SITE DOSSIER · TPE1

Why Taipei?

Taipei, live since 2026, is in TPE1 in Neihu, the district that turned a flood-prone rice plain into Taiwan's technology corridor. We joined TWIX with Arelion and PCCW, and the first test instance answered Hong Kong at 11 ms — the shortest route between any two of our sites in Asia, which is what an island surrounded by cables looks like on paper.

The site carries 0.24 Tbit/s of edge capacity at a 4 ms local median, with 21 ms to Osaka, 24 to Tokyo and 32 to Singapore. It is the island between two economies: Taiwanese users get a domestic rack at the flat price, and the region gets a node whose cables point in three directions at once.

Questions about Taipei

The two answers people actually ask about this site, then the five we give everywhere.

This site

Taipei or Hong Kong for Chinese-speaking users?
Eleven milliseconds apart, and the difference is legal rather than physical. Taiwan and the SAR run different regimes, and your users, your contracts or your compliance officer probably already know which one they need. If they need Taiwanese law and Taiwanese users, Taipei's 4 ms local median wins by a country; if they need the SAR, Hong Kong is one short hop away.
Is a small-island site worth it when the neighbours are so close?
For the island's users, yes: a Taiwanese rack is the only way to give Taiwanese packets a domestic round trip at the flat price. And the site's position is stronger than its 0.24 Tbit/s suggests — 11 ms to Hong Kong, 21 to Osaka, 24 to Tokyo — which is what three cable directions buy you.

Everywhere

Which region should I pick?
Measure, then read. Median RTT decides most cases: pick the site closest to the users you already have, then check the local law if that matters to your data. We do not charge a regional premium, so the decision is never financial.
Is the price the same in every location?
Yes. A Nano costs €1.90 per month in Frankfurt and in São Paulo. There is no regional pricing tier, no 'emerging market' discount and no 'premium location' markup to optimise around.
Can I move a server to another site later?
Take a snapshot, deploy the same image at the destination, restore, update the DNS. The console does not yet automate the migration end-to-end, but nothing about the price changes if you redeploy somewhere else.
Is DDoS protection included?
Standard volumetric filtering is always on and always free at every site. If you need application-layer scrubbing with custom rules, the Advanced tier costs €3.90 per month per server.
What IP addresses do I get?
Every server ships with one dedicated IPv4 and a routed /64 of IPv6, both announced from the site you chose. Additional IPv4s are €1.20 per month each, up to eight per server.

Payments from Taiwan

Orders from Taiwan are handled exactly like every other order: checkout in euros, payment in Bitcoin, Monero or any of twenty-four assets, and the server provisions on the first network confirmation. No card, no bank, no name that has to match one.

Two decisions, then a network

Pick a size, pick a site, pay in crypto. Moving later is one snapshot and a redeploy away.
