Paris opened in 2024 in a La Défense tower that has the useful property of being a datacentre disguised as an office building. We put a France-IX port in on day one and spent the first month explaining to French customers that the servers are not actually in Frankfurt — a conversation that still happens weekly.
With 0.72 Tbit/s of edge capacity, 3 ms local RTT and 5 ms to London, Paris is the correct answer for a surprisingly large slice of western Europe. If your customers are French, your contract says French law, or your users sit between London and Madrid, this is the site that makes the map honest.
