Why Zurich?

Zurich is our smallest site — 0.48 Tbit/s, live since 2025 in Glattbrugg, near the airport, which is not a coincidence: the building was chosen for the fibre routes that follow the runways out of the country in four directions. We lit SwissIX, signed up Arelion and Cogent, and waited to see who would pay a Swiss premium for Swiss neutrality.

The answer was more people than expected, which is why the site is currently low on stock. The pitch writes itself: Swiss law, Swiss power grid, Tier III+ infrastructure and 6 ms to Frankfurt, Milan and Paris. If your data has a price at which jurisdiction stops being an abstraction, Zurich is the site where that price is easiest to justify.

Questions about Zurich

The two answers people actually ask about this site, then the five we give everywhere.

This site

What does Swiss law actually change for me?
Switzerland is outside the EU, so EU data-protection rules apply to a Zurich server only through the contract you sign with your customers, not automatically. That cuts both ways: some organisations treat Switzerland as the safe default, and some specifically need the GDPR. Read your own contract before you pick.
Zurich is showing low stock — should that worry me?
It means the remaining hosts are selling faster than the next shipment of racks arrives, which happens when a site works. Deployments still take fifty-five seconds; if the site runs dry you will see it on the order page before checkout. We would rather under-promise capacity than oversell it.

Everywhere

Which region should I pick?
Measure, then read. Median RTT decides most cases: pick the site closest to the users you already have, then check the local law if that matters to your data. We do not charge a regional premium, so the decision is never financial.
Is the price the same in every location?
Yes. A Nano costs €1.90 per month in Frankfurt and in São Paulo. There is no regional pricing tier, no 'emerging market' discount and no 'premium location' markup to optimise around.
Can I move a server to another site later?
Take a snapshot, deploy the same image at the destination, restore, update the DNS. The console does not yet automate the migration end-to-end, but nothing about the price changes if you redeploy somewhere else.
Is DDoS protection included?
Standard volumetric filtering is always on and always free at every site. If you need application-layer scrubbing with custom rules, the Advanced tier costs €3.90 per month per server.
What IP addresses do I get?
Every server ships with one dedicated IPv4 and a routed /64 of IPv6, both announced from the site you chose. Additional IPv4s are €1.20 per month each, up to eight per server.

Payments from Switzerland

Orders from Switzerland are handled exactly like every other order: checkout in euros, payment in Bitcoin, Monero or any of twenty-four assets, and the server provisions on the first network confirmation. No card, no bank, no name that has to match one.

Pick a size, pick a site, pay in crypto. Moving later is one snapshot and a redeploy away.
